Maya Alapin received her MPhil last year, and is now working on her DPhil in Classical Languages and Literature at Balliol College, Oxford. Her main area of interest is Greek philosophy, and her research focuses on the literary structure of Plato’s Republic.

Jonathan Aye is currently a finalist studying Fine Art at Ruskin, where he focuses on painting and writing. He also works on set design, and has written and produced a theatre piece currently being performed at the Durham Arts festival.

Scarlett Baron is a DPhil student in English Literature at Christ Church, Oxford. She is writing about the influence of Flaubert on James Joyce.

Joshua Billings studies the German perception of Greek tragedy at Merton College, Oxford.

Louis Haynes is a Paris-based image and brand strategist. He is currently reading for an MPhil in Modern Chinese Studies at Balliol College, Oxford. His current research is on turbo capitalism in Far East Asia.

Matt Hill recently completed a BA in English Literature at Jesus College, Oxford, and is now a night porter at a hotel in Bristol.

Jamie Horder is reading for a DPhil in Psychiatry at St John’s College, Oxford.

John-Paul McCarthy is a DPhil student in History at Exeter College, is studying W E Gladstone’s intellectual life.

Seán Mfundza Muller is a South African student reading for an MPhil in Economics at Oxford.

Paul Sonne is an MPhil student in Russian and East European studies at New College. He is the Senior Editor of Non-Fiction of the Oxonian Review of Books.

Matthew Sperling is a Lecturer in English at Hertford College and a DPhil student at Corpus Christi. He is writing a thesis on Geoffrey Hill and philology.

Patrick Tomlin is reading for a DPhil in Political Theory at Balliol College, Oxford and is a freelance writer.

James Womack has recently completed a doctorate in English at Wadham College, Oxford.
