Brimstone

Hugh Foley

After Hilary Benn

The threat is clear and present, it
Is only right we do our bit.

The moon thins to a crescent slit
In veiling sky. We do our bit

By flying bombers through it. Hit
Your targets, guys, and do your bit.

The conflict is complex as shit,
Which means we have to do our bit.

Concerns like yours are quite legit
But we just want to do our bit;

It’s their intent, not ours to quit
Blood with blood. We just do our bit,

Stand shoulder to shoulder, to wit:
It’s always we who do our bit.

The world’s not ready to admit
It’s breaking up. It’s time to do our bit.
